myOrmoc

Last week the Ormoc Photographic Society was commissioned by the City Government of Ormoc to come up with photos to help boost its local tourism.  We were given a list of places to shoot like the very beautiful Leyte Golf and Country Club, the commercial district, the hotels and resorts, the Leyte Geothermal plants and a lot of others.  The group embraced the project with eagerness and enthusiasm.  Of course we are very proud since our pictures will showcase our beautiful city and will become permanent exhibits in the newly built tourism office.  On my first assignment I decided to shoot at night. I went around the city and I noticed this particular hotel.  This is the tallest building and the first building that you will see when you enter the city from the pier.   Hopefully, I could deliver more pictures in the days ahead.  If you have time to visit Ormoc visit the tourism office and discover myOrmoc through our pictures.

Silhouttes

A few months ago my kids discovered the game of chess and I wanted to take a photograph of them playing.  I started shooting in available light and then I added a flash but the result was not very dramatic. Then I started experimenting with my flash and I ended of putting it behind them and bouncing it to the wall.  I kindda like the silhoutte effect, the sharpness was pretty descent but it still lacks the impact I was looking for.  Then I placed a colored gel on my flash and this is the result..:)
